★ WELCOME, COMRADE ★

You have reached the official homepage of ComradeCoding, the internet's foremost collective of one. The bugs here are distributed equally among the proletariat, and every merge is a merge of the people.

A confession, comrade: the repositories are still private. The vanguard holds them in trust until they are fit to be seen. The contradiction is noted and will be resolved in a later phase.

MASTERDEBATER LIVE

The state-approved argument arena. Two comrades enter the stage, the audience records where it stands before reading a word, and when the clock runs out the side that moved the room is declared correct by the will of the people. Every settled debate receives a permanent page in the archives, where it will remain for the historians.

THE MANIFESTO

A spectre is haunting the United States of America: the spectre of Communism. All the powers of the old order have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise it: the senator and the shareholder, the cable news desk and the hedge fund, the landlord and the app that collects his rent.

Where two workers compare their pay, it is called envy. Where a nurse asks why the hospital turns a profit she could never afford to be sick inside of, it is called radical. Where anyone says out loud that a person working forty hours ought to be able to keep a roof over their head, they reach for the word and say it like a curse.

Very well. We will take the word.

We hold these things to be plain. That the people who do the work should own what the work makes. That a home is a place to live before it is an asset class. That a country capable of rescuing a bank over a single weekend can feed its children on a Tuesday. That no one's labor should make another man rich enough to leave the planet.

The workers of this website hold no shares, no board seat, and no ticker symbol. We have a domain name, a text editor, and a few hours that were not sold to anybody. It is a small beginning. Every beginning is small.

Workers of the world, unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains, your rent, and your subscription fees.

THE FIVE YEAR PLAN

  • Year one: seize the domain. The means of publication, however modest, belong in the hands of the worker who uses them.
  • Year two: build it by hand and in the open. No trackers, no ad tech, nothing sold behind the reader's back.
  • Year three: help one more person raise a site of their own. A web of many small pages is far harder to buy than one large one.
  • Year four: collectivize the guestbook. Somewhere to argue in public is a public good.
  • Year five: full communism. Failing that, a mailing list.

The plan is ahead of schedule. The plan has always been ahead of schedule.
